THE PLAYER


Thorwald, an elderly man who has succumbed to corruption, embarks on a quest to rescue his kidnapped dog. Armed with his sword and cursed arm, he demonstrates remarkable agility, executing swift dashes that allow him to navigate platforms and leap over treacherous gaps despite his advanced age.
THORWALD
Thorwald is built upon a triple chain attack, where he ques from a front slash to a backhand slash to an uppercut. After performing a normal attack does Thorwald find himself in a tired state where he's locked in place. The chain attack allows Thorwald to ignore his tired state until he breaks a chain.
THORWALD
Thorwald, tainted by corruption, gains the ability to harness its powers. He undertakes specific trials in the most corrupt areas of the deep forest, cold ruins, towering mountains, and dark caves. Completing each trial grants him a unique ability as the ultimate reward.
ABILITIES

FIRE - Allows Thorwald to burn down bushes and dead trees. It also deals continuous burn damage to enemies.
ICE - Lets Throwald transform rivers into bridges of ice, it can also be used to freeze enemies in place for a short duration.
LIGHTNING - Can be used to activate old mechanisms across the land and its deadly dealing AOE damage and good to clear waves of enemies.
VOID - The most basic ability, is a ranged ability that can open demon doors and deal ranged damage.
MY RESPONSIBILITIES
After successfully completing the tutorial, the player emerges from the cave and finds themselves standing on an empty road that cuts through a thick forest. The path stretches ahead, offering a serene and peaceful journey, devoid of any dangers. It acts as a calming pause, temporarily removing all thoughts of peril, until Thorwald reaches the walls of the nearby village.
THE SOUTH
Unlike the southern region, the village is currently plagued by corruption, with the town being engulfed in its grasp. The source of this corruption appears to be a gate to hell situated in the middle of the town square. To open this gate, the player must acquire all four abilities.
Additionally, there are short interconnecting pathways known as "short in-betweens" that connect each of the world's areas to the central hub, facilitating navigation between them.
THE HUB & IN-BETWEENS
The boss fight serves as the core of the corruption, and it is divided into three phases. In each phase, an additional pair of tentacles emerges, increasing their attack range and speed. This challenging encounter was the result of a collaborative effort between me, Felix Rahm, Anton Liivak, and Emil Nygren. Together, we designed and crafted a captivating boss fight that truly befits the culmination of the player's journey.
